This will be the first exhibition of Doig’s work to be shown after the exhibition that circulated to Tate Modern in London, the Musée d’art moderne of Paris and the Frankfurt Schirn Kunsthalle in 2008. The exhibition will look at the way that the artist works in thematic and formal groupings, culminating in often large canvases and works on paper. These works are exotic in their subject matter, formally spare and monumental at the same time.
