Our Favorite Looks From the CAFA Awards

The Canadian Arts & Fashion Awards (CAFAs) were held on Saturday, February 1, at The Fairmont Royal York in Toronto, where the who’s who of the Canadian fashion industry came to recognize and celebrate the achievements of Canada’s designers, models, stylists and more. We combed through the polished crowd to share some of our favourite looks of the evening.

The Beckerman sisters, Caillianne and Samantha, stuck to their natural “more is more” take on fashion and loaded on the layers in charmingly coordinated outfits. We adore the infamous Chanel chain boots!

Coco Rocha won model of the year and wore a stunning draped DSquared2 gown alongside some of our favourite designers, Greta Constantine’s Kirk Pickersgill and Stephen Wong, who both donned cleverly current ensembles.

Stacey Mckenzie wore an alluring aubergine gown by Canadian label VAWK.

Toronto born and Milan-based designers Dean and Dan Caten (who won both Outstanding Achievement and International Designer of the year awards for the evening), displayed unexpected tuxedos in their expected matching ensembles.

The lady in red of the evening, Jessica Mulroney, wore a ravishing asymmetrical shoulder, full-skirted get-up.

Blogger Christian Thompson (aka Christian Confidential) chose a sleek look that lacked colour but definitely not flair.

Aliya Jasmine dazzled us in a glistening skirt by Andrew Majtenyi and a charming pearl layered necklace by Shay Lowe jewelry; Degrassi’s Melinda Shankar wore an elegant Pink Tartan gown.

Fashion designer Kimberley Newport-Mimran of Pink Tartan also opted for a full-skirted gown, accenting it with a waist-cinching bow.

Argos players Mike Bradwell and John Chiles were both GQ-esque in clean, classic and slim suits. John chose one of our favourite men’s trends this season, pairing a turtleneck under his blazer.

Model and activist Yasmin Warsame donned a gorgeous navy dress with a voluminous skirt and lace cut-out accents on the waist, and interior designer Moe Razi-Mulcahy wowed us in a flocked, flapper-style frock.
