Opening Soon: Vagabond Brewery

New brewpub Vagabond is preparing to open its doors with a grand opening mid-May across the way from the Saddledome. Built by beer lovers for beer lovers, Vagabond is a West Coast, US-style brewpub with an edgy attitude and design inspired by the great beer spots down the coast of California.

Lee Borschowa, one of the people behind Vagabond, said their aim is to be the beer drinkers’ place. With eight of their own beers (including two seasonal), four rotating North American handles, four rotating European handles, and bottles of hard-to-find craft brews, it seems their sights are on target. There will be IPAs, stouts, and an American Red. We sampled the Chuck (as in chuck wagon) Pilsner and can’t wait to try the rest. This place will be hopping well before July, but we sure hope we get an invite to a Stampede party at Vagabond.

There are two bars, an open kitchen, 180 seats inside and 35 out. After seeing pieces of the reclaimed building materials they’re incorporating into the space, we can’t wait to see the finished product. When you work up an appetite from repeatedly raising your glass, the menu has everything from house made pork cracklins and lobster corn dogs to a 16oz bone-in rib eye.
