One Heroic Man Jumped into the Nice Attacker’s Truck to Stop the Rampage

The horrific attack in Nice, France last night that killed at least 84 people could have been even worse if one courageous man didn’t stop the attacker, according to The Independent.

As you now know, a massive white truck ploughed its way though a family-filled crowd celebrating Bastille Day. It was driven by a lone 31-year-old man, who has now been identified as Nice resident Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel.

Amidst the chaos, one man jumped into the cab of the truck and began wrestling with the attacker.

Doing so allowed the police enough time to stop the driver.

“It was at that moment that the police were able to stop the terrorist,” Eric Ciotti, an official with the Alpes-Maritimes department which covers the Nice area, told Europe 1 radio Friday.

The truck’s driver shot at the person before turning his gun at police officers, but missed each target. At that point, the police shot and killed the driver.

At a time of increasing terror attacks the world could use more people with this man’s degree of bravery.
