On Our Radar: King West is Getting a New Tequila Bar

Have you ever looked around and thought, man, Toronto could sure use some more Tequila. Of course you have. Which is why you should be excited about today’s announcement that King West (220 King St. W. to be exact) will be welcoming a brand new tequila bar on February 5th. And you should also be happy that these guys aren’t messing about when it comes to agave. El Caballito, as it will be called, is listing 64 different tequilas including blanco, reposado, and añejo. As well, there’ll be a few mezcals on offer and the chance to choose from a dozen different tequilas for Servicio Tequilero (aka bottle service).

Besides carrying more tequila than you could down in a lifetime, or at least a long weekend, El Caballito will also be serving up authentic Mexican antojitos – small plates of street-style Mexican food that often include tacos, tamales, quesadillas, and probably any other Spanish food word you’re familiar with. With space for up to 120 people and hours that extend until 1am we’re pretty sure a lot of people are going to be excited to take this ‘little horse’ for a ride. If you didn’t get that last line you either don’t know Spanish or you’ve already had far too much tequila today.

More to come when the doors officially open. Until then, start building up your taste for margaritas and midnight tacos. Wait, what are we talking about – you can’t build something that’s always there.
