On Our Radar: Coming Soon to Vancouver

We understand our Notable friends are incredibly busy, yet equally keen to be in on the buzz of up-and-coming openings around Vancouver. We recently hit the pavement to uncover a few soon to open spots we think might pique your interest…

There seems to be a lot of activity on Robson Street these days. A very recent move and revamp of Kiehl’s was only the beginning…A bit further down the block, we noted the Canucks’ team colours plastered across the windows of 1151 Robson, and a peek in the door revealed that hockey fanatics can indeed expect to see doors open for this new Canucks Fan Store later this month. We’re pretty sure Christmas shopping just got a whole lot easier for some! Stay tuned for updates by following @CanucksStore, and check out the storefront here.

Further along Robson, we found another transitional space (1193 Robson) is set to become the new home of Habit of Urban (H.O.C.) and will feature an updated take on reversible wear, cocktail and casual dresses alongside plenty of other colourful options to help fatten-up that Fall wardrobe without breaking the bank. We think this could be an interesting spot to set a memo for as we’re curious to get a closer look at this rather thrifty yet fashion-forward concept brought to Vancouver via Hong Kong roots.

Next up: Gastown is set to welcome Revolver Coffee to the neighbourhood. We had a chance to speak with one of the owners to garner a better idea as to what Vancouver coffee-lovers can expect when doors open in the next few weeks. Our chat revealed that this cozy 24-seater will offer caffeine seekers a truly unique experience that starts from the moment you order your java. Revolver Coffee will serve strictly ‘made to order’ brew by-the-cup. This translates to each cup being specifically brewed to an individual’s preferences and not simply stemming from a pot of hour-old ‘special blend.’ Owned by the same family behind West Vancouver’s fantastic Cafe Crema, Revolver is a definite departure, quality aside, of course. Expect a more rustic look and feel with plenty of weathered raw materials and reclaimed wood providing a ‘frontier feel.’ Keep up-to-date with the progress by following their twitterings @revolver_coffee.

Our final discovery is the planned expansion of J. Crew set to open shop at Vancouver’s Pacific Centre in the heart of downtown. This will undoubtedly thrill a countless number of cross-border shoppers who schlep their way to Seattle for fashion finds. There is no confirmed opening date as of yet, so plug this one into the ‘near future radar.’ The Pacific Centre is located at 701 West Georgia Street, Vancouver.
