On Our Radar: BRUSH Salon Opens Monday

You could count the number of people you’re cool with giving you a haircut on one hand.

Which is why we’re excited for the opening of BRUSH Salon (62 West Cordova St.).

These guys know what that relationship is all about and they’ve created a space and experience to go along with it.

Michael Gibson and Calvyn Class, new partners in life and business, come from none other than Style Lab, where the energy and client loyalty is unbreakable. Being a part of one of the city’s leading hair salons gave them the motivation to reach their goal of having one of their own.

Now with their vision becoming reality, they chose Gastown as the spot to take that next step.

With no other large salon like this in the area, BRUSH Salon is going to fill the gap with a beauty inspired by similar establishments in New York and London.

While there were still a few last minute renovations taking place when we took a peek, we could already get a strong sense of what the final atmosphere will deliver.

Imagine: an all-white lacquered ceiling (only minimal accents of black finishings interrupt), balanced by a cool grey slate floor, and a neon sign glowing on the back wall.

As clean and modern as a new cut, you might say.

BRUSH exudes a modern flair with a youthful take, while still incorporating pieces that will remain classic as time goes on.

Exclusively focusing on hair and make-up, guys and girls will feel pampered as soon as they walk through the doors. BRUSH is an official L’Oreal salon but will also carry Davines, an Italian natural brand, and their luxury offering, Shu Uemera hair products – one of only three places in Vancouver where you can find this exclusive line.

As of Monday, you can start booking with one of their five artists, though they plan to expand their roster soon enough with eleven chairs ready for clients.

Cuts, colour, extensions, fades, or attempting the latest Beckham ‘do – you now know where to go stay looking sharp.
