On our Notable Radar: FortKnight Men’s Boutique

Sure, there’s a gamut of Notable go-to favourites for men’s gifts and accessories that you’ll find at shops like Boys’Co, Roden Gray or behind the counters of Holt’s and Harry Rosen… but what about sleuthing out something a little more unique? Well, one such suave spot has set up shop in Gastown and we think it more than makes the Notable guys cut: FortKnight Men’s Boutique.

Located at 46 Alexander Street, FortKnight has set up shop within a stripped-down, gorgeous heritage location and has aptly marrieda sense of old world class with an updated and polished look we found striking. Simplistic decor, rustic and muted colours help in drawing attention to the eclectic mix of plush pieces that push the style envelope when it comes to curious guys are guaranteed to love.

FortKnight offers up an array of this with its well-chosen collection of offerings available, courtesy of owner Tyler Johnstone’s jet-setting ways. We’re talking luxurious shaving soaps and accessories from Taylor of Old Bond Street, Czechoslovakian crystal whiskey bottles, Austrian decanters, Vancouver-made leather products and messenger bags, stylish stylos and more.

Other Notable reasons to stop by FortKnight: brands like Saphir, Monteverde and even Paul Reed Smith (guitars) abound. We also love the vintage wine barrels sparingly used to display the various high-end, guy-minded goods (pick up a designer watch, cocktail apparel, handkerchief or perfectly polished flask at this venue.

Post retail fix, head for a rewarding brew next door at neighbouring Chill Winston… now there’s an idea worth noting.
