Office Space: 1milk2sugars PR, Toronto

After maintaining a virtual office in Toronto for over a year, popular Montreal-based media relations and social media boutique 1milk2sugars PR opened its doors to a Toronto office earlier this month.

With a head office in the Old Port of Montreal, 1milk2sugars has buzzed about some of our favourite brands since 2004.

Founded by PR maven Priya Chopra (previously featured on Notable), the lifestyle-based PR firm boasts an impressive roster clients that span a variety of sectors, like beauty, fashion, gastronomy, real estate, and more. This means a client list of beloved brands like L’Oreal Professionnel, E. & J. Gallo Winery Canada, Clarisonic, Matrix, Tria Beauty and Rowenta Beauty, among many others.

1milk2sugars PR has offered PR on the national level for a few years now, but growing Toronto business meant that a Toronto location was increasingly essential. Now, the company is one of the few boutique PR firms to have offices in both major east coast cities. The goal is to have the Toronto office mirror the Montreal office in terms of size and scope within the next year.

We stopped by to check out the space for ourselves and snap a few shots. Located in the heart of the Fashion District (Adelaide and Spadina), the 1milk2sugars office is very similar to the Montreal one; lofty, beautifully decorated, with a warm and welcoming vibe that we’re told perfectly mimics the way they interact with their clients.

At 366 Adelaide St. West, the space has a contemporary rustic vibe to it thanks to its wood floors, high and exposed ceilings, brick walls, beam construction and modern elements including contemporary furniture like glass desks with ghost chairs and a sparkly chandelier. Things like the modern, clean-lined bright red chairs and a black shag rug pop in the space against the neutral colour palette.

The space is bright, open and airy, with ample light and big windows. One whole back wall is all glass, and, despite a building next-door, lets in a lot of light to contribute to the warm, lofty feel. Aside from one enclosed office, most of the workspace is open to allow for heavy group collaboration and a laid-back environment. The open space also lends the office to an event space, like the company’s recent press event held for client L’Oreal Professionnel.

The office space reveals clues as to 1milk2sugars’ clients, with things like beauty products strategically on display and a magazine shelf of coverage that features everything from Canadian Living and Wedluxe to TChad

Of course, you can’t have a name like 1milk2sugars without a to-die-for coffee station – pretty sweet!
