Now Open: North of Brooklyn Pizzeria

North of Brooklyn Pizzeria opened last week on Queen West with a minimal menu of five select pies and a host of toppings for optimal customization. Choose from margherita, pepperoni, white, seasonal vegetable or puttanesca ($18-22), which are also available as individual slices. If their creations aren’t enough, top it up with everything from grana padano to garlic knots.

They’re currently in the midst of securing their liquor license, which we hope will be resolved soon. In the meantime, their Facebook page informed us that they’re looking into getting a keg.

So, who’s behind it all? Despite co-owner Josh Spatz not having much of a restaurant background, he did bring in two pizzeria heavyweights: Francesco Pinello of Best Pizza in Williamsburg, New York, and chef Alex Potter formerly of Pizzeria Libretto.
