Notably New Spots to Dine in Kitsilano

We’ve found ourselves venturing over to Vancouver’s West Side quite a bit this summer. We love the laid-back and breezy nature afforded by this seaside neighbourhood, and we’ve noted that a handful of tantalizing restaurants have popped up as of recent, which have more than caught our culinary eye.

A recent visit had us heading to explore Tractor for a bit of healthy comfort food in a chic, clean and relaxed setting. Perched on the corner of W. 4th action (at Cypress), this is not your average cafeteria. Guests can select from an assortment of freshly-made soups (try the Moroccan Chicken), salads, sandwiches and more, and then enjoy their meal in the pristine dining area or on their new 18-seat patio. Heading off to the beach? No problem; Tractor has you covered with convenient takeaway packages available (sustainable too!)
Tractor is located at 1903 W. 4th Avenue.

Another spot worth checking out if you’re in Kits, head to The August Jack for some seriously tasty tapas-style grub. Though they’ve only been open for three weeks, buzz has already built up about their take on locally sourced BC shellfish (they specialize in mussels and oysters). Be sure to grab yourself a cold one, truffle popcorn and an order of pan-seared Beach Oysters with Tarragon garlic butter…mmm. Located in a high-traffic part of W. 4th, The August Jack is tucked away from the crazy – just enough. Friendly staff, cozy decor and great tuneage help amp up the fun factor on any given night.
Find yourself at The August Jack at 2042 W. 4th Avenue.

Finally, we were ever so excited to learn that Nook had finally opened the doors to their highly anticipated second location close to Kitsilano Beach (and conveniently around the corner from a regular Notable watering-hole, The Local, at Yew Street. We’d expect nothing less than near perfection from their menu (given we’re rather guiltily familiar with pretty much everything on it).  However, get excited about the fact that Nook in Kitsilano serves lunch and takeaway too! Our list of must-bite items includes the Meatball Sandwich, which you can enjoy with one of their many wines available by the glass. Though they don’t have a patio, that’s no issue; floor to ceiling doors open the space up to street-side action.
Get ‘Nook’ed at their new location by venturing down to 1525 Yew Street.
