Notable’s Top 5 Interviews of 2012

Over the past year, we have brought you first-hand interviews with some of the most notable young Canadians across the country that are making waves in their respective careers. This includes prominent figures in business, the arts and even sports. Here are some of our favourites.

James Hinchcliffe
Days before the Honda Indy back in July, we joined promising young Canadian Indy car racer James Hinchcliffe at Crush Wine Bar in Toronto. You may recall the Oakville native’s face on subway posters, billboards and bus shelters last summer as part of his GoDaddy campaign. Hinchcliffe shared insight on the sport of racing, how he prepares for a big race, how he spends his time back home in Canada, and balancing life with racing, sponsorships and everything in between.

Larry Rosen
We talked to Harry Rosen CEO Larry Rosen in August at the opening of the newly revamped Harry Rosen store in Toronto’s Eaton Centre. Rosen offered a little more insight on Harry Rosen’s rapid growth, as well as some wardrobe tips for the YP gentleman.

Harley Pasternak
Celebrity fitness guru Harley Pasternak is credited for training and transforming some of Hollywood’s most famous bodies. We sat down with Pasternak in February and he revealed some tips for time-strapped young professionals as well as common weight loss and fitness misconceptions.

Canadian TV stars at TIFF
Before TIFF had even begun, the festivities kicked off at the then just-opened Shangri La hotel in Toronto for the Producers Ball. Here, we caught up with some big name Canadian TV stars, like Drew Scott (W Network’s Property Brothers, Buying and Selling), Natalie Brown (Sophie) and Lyriq Bent (Rookie Blue), who revealed their TIFF stamina secrets.

David Chilton
Back in May, Danica Jeffrey had the opportunity to catch an insider sneak peek of upcoming additions to the CBC schedule of programs for 2012/2013 when she sat down with David Chilton, the latest Dragon to join the top-rated CBC program Dragons’ Den and author of bestseller The Wealthy Barber. Chilton talks about the Dragons’ Den experience, what he learned from his role as the newest Dragon, and what had surprised him about the process.

Throughout the year, we also sat down with some of Canada’s most notable young fashion designers during SS13 World MasterCard Fashion Week, owners of some of the country’s hottest restaurants (like Toronto’s restaurant king Hanif Harji), as well as a slew of notable CEOs and business owners like David Segal (David’s Tea). Our next big personality? Justin Viard, General Consul of Haiti in Montreal, coming up this week.

We look forward to bringing you more Notable interviews in 2013!
