Autumn Shift Festival (Mount Pleasant neighbourhood, Main Street from 12th Ave to Broadway)
Shift into the fall season and be sure to stop by the Mount Pleasant neighbourhood’s 3rd Annual street festival celebrating community spirit, sustainable living and much more.  More than 70 different vendor booths will be on hand (including TELUS World of Science and The Vancouver Aquarium) with a variety of attractions, live music, entertainment and food (courtesy of local restaurants) to suit all tastes. Be sure to catch the free yoga stretch session hosted by local participating studios and score passes, tips and info. The festival starts at noon until 6pm. For more info here.

Voices in the Park (Brockton Point, Stanley Park)
This Saturday, head down to Stanley Park for a night of music as part of a benefit concert aiming to raise funds for the Sarah McLachlan School of Music. Look for the crooning of notable artists such as Bryan Adams, Sarah McLachlan, Hey Ocean!, Hedley, Stevie Nicks and more. Also making an appearance for this worthy cause, former US President Bill Clinton will take to the stage. 

Spend on Trend (3102 Main Street)
If you are looking to add something new to your fall wardrobe, Spend on Trend is just the ticket. This weekend marks the return of this fashionable market that shines a light on local designers. Shop new fall fashions courtesy of independent designers and help support local entrepreneurs. The first 25 shoppers each day will score a special surprise gift. Tickets are only $5 for entrance.  

Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup (September 15 to 23rd at various locations in Vancouver)
This cleanup endeavour began in Vancouver in 1994 and has since grown to encompass annual cleanup efforts across Canada in partnership with the Vancouver Aquarium and WWF. Be part of the action and help tidy up our local shoreline by heading to Kitsilano Beach, Iona Beach, English Bay and other spots in need of a little TLC this Saturday.

Out of town: O! Osoyoos Celebrates (Osoyoos, BC)
Head out of town this weekend and up to BC’s stunning wine country for a weekend full of food, tours and wine-related activities as part of this epicurean celebration. Take in the flavour of sunny Osoyoos at several different signature gala events taking place at various venues; enjoy lobster on the beach and a red carpet soiree as we segue into the fall season.

Terry Fox Run (Ceperly Park at the edge of Lost Lagoon in Stanley Park)
Be part of this longstanding effort that helps raise funds and awareness for Cancer research, which stems from a dream inspired by the great Terry Fox 32 years ago. There is no fee to enter and no minimum donation required – just you and your running shoes. Event registration starts at 8am and the run begins at 10am. There is a 3km and 10km route to choose from and it’s open to all abilities.
