The Color Run 5k – Vancouver (September 14 at the PNE)
Gear up and stay in summer shape for fall by scoring a spot at the inaugural Color Run. Known as one of the happiest 5k runs on the planet, this global initiative celebrates health, happiness, giving back to the community, creativity and individuality. Vancouver Tweed Ride (September 15)
Grab your best bowtie, tweed cap, vest or what have you and hop on board (en masse) for a charity ride through the centre of the city. Channel your best Brit accent and help raise awareness and money for local non-profit Intersections Media Opportunities For Youth. Register and find more info here. There will be refreshments en route, prizes and an after party to sweeten the deal.

Now Open: Earnest Ice Cream standalone (3992 Fraser Street)
Summer weather still calls for ice cream, and opening just in time to catch the tail end of the season is Earnest Ice Cream’s first bricks and mortar shop. Autumn Shift Festival (September 15, Main Street at Broadway)
Shift into the season with style and rediscover the city’s Mt. Pleasant neighbourhood. There will be a smoking sausage BBQ ‘Cook-off’ to add to the festivities, live music, a BLIM Fashion Show, farmers market, plant nursery and Liveable Laneways to explore. Tomato Festival at Vancouver Farmers Markets (September 14-15)
This weekend, be sure to get your fill of the latest crop of BC grown goods and celebrate all things tomato while you’re at it.  Tomato Festival takes place at both the Kitsilano and Trout Lake Markets this weekend and you’ll be able to learn all about this “Love Apple” through tastings, demos and displays. Annual Terry Fox Run (September 15, Stanley Park)
Join thousands of other runners for a positive start to your day and partake in one of Vancouver’s largest free community fundraiser activities. Registration opens at 8:30am for both the 3km and 10km challenges with a BC blueberry pancake breakfast set to take place (by donation) upon completion.  There will be live entertainment and other activities and sun is in the forecast.
