Advice-A-Thon – October 17th & 24th
Wind your week down by booking your complimentary appointments at Advice-A-Thon, presented by Benchmark Law Corporation in honour of Small Business Month happening at Creekside Community Centre. If you plan your 20-minute sessions right, this is the networking version of speed dating – a rare opportunity to connect with more than 30 respected consultants ready to answer your questions on that entrepreneurial step you’ve been itching to take. If you miss the opportunity today, look for another all-day event happening October 24th in Surrey.

Toast to the Coast – October 17th
You may not be able to swindle a ticket to this one, but it’ll be worth it if you do. Toast to the Coast is happening tonight at the Vancouver Aquarium – a new after-party lounge this year is sure to keep the city’s young professionals mingling until late. Being the naturally beautiful city that we are, the importance of this event supports the efforts to ensuring our oceans are preserved. To that, we can definitely cheers.

TEDxVancouver – October 18th
Sparking thought and ideas – it’s the big day for TEDxVancouver. President of TEDxVancouver Jordan Kallman (he’s also the guy behind Diner en Blanc) promises the talks and experience will be engaging and evoke change. We’re definitely looking forward to hearing Chip Wilson share his experience on his past year, what’s coming up for his next venture, Whil, a meditation practice, and maybe sharing a couple details on passing down the entrepreneurial spirits to his family as they power forward with Kit & Ace.

Splash Gala – October 18th
Act your shoe size. That’s an order. Coming together at CBC Studios this year, it’s Arts Umbrella’s annual Splash gala. Be sure to shine up your best sneakers – pairing your kicks with gown and tux is mandatory. Now there’s no excuse not to dance the evening away all in the name of a great cause.

Offtober – October 22
Experience some of best cuisine in a different setting… the dark. Though very romantic, Offtober powered by BC Hydro is actually all about energy. With a burgeoning number of restaurants participating and special dining offers to boot, book a reso for next Thursday now. It’ll make for the date night or group bonding dinner – you’d be surprised at the enhanced experience offered by dimming the lights.

Movember Gala – November 29
We wanted to give you the heads up on this one now so the dudes have time to advance their ‘stache (hey, not everyone can grow a full handlebar overnight). An added bonus: you can plan your Halloween costume to incorporate your fuzz. The annual Movember Gala at The Imperial is an event you want to snap up a couple of tickets to and is a must-attend on our autumn events calendar. We probably don’t have to tell you by now it’s all for a great cause.
