Movember Shave Off at Bitter Tasting Room (shaving begins today at 5pm at 16 West Hastings)
Let the shaving begin. Bitter Tasting Room is hosting its 1st Annual shave-off celebration to commemorate the month-long challenge that has taken over the faces of men throughout Vancouver in an effort to raise awareness of men’s health. A $10 donation will get you in the door to the event, includes a shave, trim and celebratory refreshment (courtesy of Belmont Barbershop and R&B Brewing). For more information click here.

Canyon Lights at Capilano Suspension Bridge (December 1 to January 5) 3735 Capilano Road, North Vancouver
A winter tradition on the West Coast, Canyon Lights is a stunning event that sees hundreds of thousands of lights all but take over this Pacific Northwest rainforest and also features on-site entertainment, glass blowing demonstrations, carols with the holiday band and plenty more. Proceeds from admission to this seasonal event are donated to the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund and a free shuttle is available daily. Learn more by visiting here.

West Coast Christmas Show & Marketplace (November 30 – December 2) at the TRADEX – Fraser Valley & Exhibition Centre located at 1190 Cornell Street in Abbotsford.

Slip out of the city for a day and head to TRADEX in the Fraser Valley. The West Coast Christmas Show is one of Western Canada’s leading holiday season shows and is guaranteed to get you into the festive spirit. Take in hundreds of exhibits, free cheese seminars, score holiday decor ideas and find unique gifts for everyone on your list. Tickets start at $6 for general admission. Do good: Cause We Care’s Holiday Hamper Drive (December 6) 750 Terminal Avenue
Established in 2007, the Vancouver-based Cause We Care Foundation has been striving to help support the lives of local single mothers and children. This year the organization will again hold its 6th Annual Holiday Hamper Drive (Thursday starting at 9AM). Get in on the volunteer action and donate $55 toward filling hampers loaded with non-perishable items and clothing to help single mothers and their children have a brighter holiday season. Benefit Dinner: The Farmer And The Pig (December 5 at 43 West Hastings)
Don’t miss out on your chance to enjoy a three-course dinner at Vancouver landmark hot spot Save On Meats. This multi-course menu will be complimented by wines from the Okanagan’s own Road 13 Vineyards. This event will see all proceeds going to A Better Life Foundation charity (started by Save on Meats owner Mark Brand, who recently appeared on CBC’s “The Big Decision”).
