A Night Out for Music Heals (March 2nd, various venues)
Coming up this Saturday, be sure to head out to one of more than 20 different venues to catch live music and entertainment in support of music therapy programs in BC. Each participating establishment will donate $1 from cover charges toward this worthy charity. Coming Up: Dining Out For Life (various restaurants around Vancouver)
On Thursday, March 7th, leave the cooking to someone else. There will be more than 200 different restaurants around town participating in this annual one-night fundraiser that helps support people living with HIV/AIDS. With 25% of every food bill going directly back to support the organizations efforts, what more of an excuse do you need to ditch the kitchen for a night out? Good Cause: Sweet Temptations (March 1st at CocoaNymph East, 4 West 7th Avenue)
This Friday, a sweet chocolate-infused benefit is taking place to help raise money toward The Sarah McLachlan School of Music, which helps provide free after-school music education for at-risk kids.  Tickets are available through chimp.net for $35 with an auction set to take place to liven things up with a great lineup of items to be won. Nosh on canapés, sip wine and enjoy local beer while catching CBC’s own Reid Jamieson (of Vinyl Cafe), who will be on hand to entertain the crowd. 

The Vancouver International Wine Festival (ongoing, various venues)
With more than 55 different events taking place throughout Vancouver, 176 wineries present and the pouring of more than 1850 different wines from around the world, prep your liver for some grape-fuelled fun. Coastal First Nations Dance Festival (March 6 to 10)
Explore the rich cultural heritage of BC and catch this upcoming festival that includes an array of performances, internationally recognized artists from across North America and celebrations. Back for its 6th year, this year’s festival features performers from throughout the Pacific Northwest: Alaska, Washington, Yukon, Manitoba and BC. All will be on hand to tell their unique ancestral stories through dramatic dance, art and narration at the Museum of Anthropology. For more information on this event, click here.

Coming Up: Vancouver International Salsa Festival (March 7 to 10)
This festival is looking to draw upward of 4,000 participants (beginner, intermediate, pro and spectator alike) when it comes to the Westin Bayshore next week. With various events and workshops available starting at $15, if you’ve ever harboured a desire to let the music move you, Salsafest is it.
