This Friday, Save on Meats has teamed up with PLEA Community Services in support of the 34th Annual PRIDE Parade and Generation Out groups to raise funds for the PLEA has PRIDE float and youth in Vancouver’s LGBTQS community. Recently Opened: The Acorn
Vancouver’s first veggie-friendly restaurant just opened the doors to its quaint and cozy 50-seat space on Main Street. Discerning diners will find a tasty menu loaded with gluten-free, vegan, raw and vegetarian options (with late-night bites, wine and beer available until 2am). 3995 Main Street.

Enchanted Evenings at Dr. Sun Yat Sen
The Dr. Sun Yat Sen Classical Chinese Garden has just launched their series of 8 different outdoor/indoor concerts, “Enchanted Evenings,” featuring a variety of different artists and sounds each week. Stunning gardens provide the backdrop and wine and light bites are available. Tickets are $25.

Indian Summer Festival
The 2nd Annual Indian Summer Festival starts just in time for the weekend and runs until July 15th. It will showcase top talent from South Asia (music, dance, literature, film, arts, cuisine and wellness are just a few areas highlighted). Events take place at various locations in Vancouver

Keloha Music & Arts Festival
One of BC’s newest music and art festivals takes place this weekend, July 6 – 8, in sunny Kelowna’s Waterfront Park next to Okanagan Lake. With 25 artisans on display and more than 26 hot indie, alternative, pop, rock and folk bands taking the stage, it promises to provide a notable escape to the tropics. 1200 Water Street.

Can You Dig It Fundraising Event
Dust of those green thumbs, grab your spade and join others in the Vancouver community to help create a sustainable food source by helping build gardens and give back a portion of the food to those who are in need. Help lend a hand to this local, non-profit organization and assist in working toward the betterment of the community. The event takes place Saturday, July 7th from 9am until 5pm at Clark and 12th Street.

Underwear Affair
Join BC Cancer Foundation’s Underwear Affair and help find the cure for underfunded below-the-waist cancers like prostate, ovarian, and colorectal. On July 7, 2012, take part in running the 10K or stroll your way through the fun 5K and show your awareness to down there-ness. Race check-in is at Lot 6C – 88 Pacific Boulevard and starts at 3:30pm.
