Whistler Longboard Festival (July 12th to 15th)
This weekend-long festival offers incentive to get out of town and up to picturesque Blackcomb Mountain in Whistler. Take in the sun and competition at the Sliding Centre’s 1.6 km road as more than 160 international competitors skate their way down the mountain toward a $5,000 prize..  4010 Whistler Way, Whistler, BC.

Canada Cup of Beer Festival (July 14th)
Vancouver’s 7th annual largest beer festival takes place this Saturday at Burnaby’s Swangard Stadium. Festivalgoers can take in plenty of live entertainment at this outdoor event while tasting their way around the world, sampling beer from more than 100 different brewers. Partial proceeds support the Vancouver Theatresports League.  3883 Imperial Street.

35th Annual Vancouver Folk Festival (July 13th to 15th)
Head to Jericho Beach Park for a weekend’s worth of music and join more than 35,000 others at this always-popular outdoor event. With daily workshops, food vendors, an artisan marketplace and seven stages featuring sounds from more than 100 different talents, you’re definitely in for a good time.

Kick off PRIDE celebrations at the PNE’s Gay Day at Playland (July 14th)
With the annual Vancouver PRIDE celebrations set to start, things get geared up this Saturday at Playland where park-goers are encouraged to show their support (and bright colours) in support of Pride, anti-bullying and more. 2901 East Hastings Street.

Coming up: 10th Annual Purolator Tackle Hunger Food Drive (July 20th)
The battle is almost on for this worthy benefit assisting both the Surrey Food Bank Society and Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society.
