Hot Chocolate Festival (now until February 14, various venues)
Check out the 4th Annual Hot Chocolate Festival and taste your way around the city, sampling 60 different chocolate-y creations courtesy of top cafes, bakeries and chocolatiers. Drink up and know you’re sipping for a cause, because this festival benefits the Downtown Eastside Women’s Job Training Program of the PHS Community Services Society and East Van Roasters. Street Food City 3 (until January 26, North Plaza, Vancouver Art Gallery)
Be sure to catch the third year of Street Food City, the original street food gathering, and sample more than a dozen tasty food truck offerings all in one central location at The Vancouver Art Gallery (off West Georgia Street). Always a huge success, expect plenty of vendors on hand cooking up a storm. Score a seat, take in live music and enjoy a festive mid-winter outdoor feast. 4th Annual Scotiabank Vancouver Canadians Hot Stove Luncheon (January 24, Fairmont Hotel Vancouver)

Head to Photohaus Gallery and take in the opening reception of ‘GRIT’ Scenes of South East Asia by recent winner of The Capture Photography Festival and Georgia Straight’s People’s Choice Award, Christopher Edmonstone. As Edmonstone’s first solo exhibit, the work features award-winning images and others from his collective body of work guaranteed to wow. Do not miss this stellar annual event that takes over the Four Seasons Hotel with serious wine-fuelled style.
