Kits Fest (August 8-10, Kitsilano Beach)
The biggest and best outdoors, sports and healthy living festival is back for another weekend of friendly competition and fun. This Kitsilano community festival takes over the various beaches of Kitsilano and features basketball, tennis, free yoga, volleyball and other healthy living activities to inspire and help you work up a sweat. Squamish Valley Music Festival (August 8 to 10)
Don’t miss this three-day music festival in Squamish featuring a stellar lineup of headliners such as Bruno Mars, Arcade Fire, and Eminem (to name just a few).  Camping around the ground might be tight, but you may find some luck nearby.  Local vendors will be on hand to keep you hydrated and fed. TD Vancouver Chinatown Festival (August 9 to 10)
Don’t miss the return of this year’s cultural festival that attracted 57,000 to last year’s Chinatown neighbourhood. The Vancouver Chinatown BIA society will host a multicultural summer celebration like no other featuring multiple stages, live performances, a TD Youth Talent Showdown, streetfest with plenty of food samples and more. Treat your sweet tooth to a sampling of the latest baked goods offerings courtesy of Sweet Bake Shop boutique bakery in Yaletown. They just opened within the last week and feature an array of cupcakes using seasonal fruit, cookies, cakes and ice cream sandwiches to keep you chilled and fulfilled this weekend. Food Cart Fest (every Sunday, 215 W 1)
Head over to False Creek’s Olympic Village this Sunday afternoon for a serious feast. On from 12pm-5pm every Sunday all summer, this festival features 20 of Vancouver’s top food carts and is an afternoon of food, fun, and sun with by live music and DJs, local craft food vendors, live entertainment activities and more.
