Official Launch of America Restaurant
Date: October 1th
Location: Trump Hotel, 31st Floor

Inspired by the opulence, luxury, and sex appeal of the five-star luxury Trump Hotel Toronto, the all-new America on the 31st floor officially opened its doors last night and you’re probably going to want to see what’s behind them. America doesn’t just offer elevated takes on regional American fare under the guidance of the culinary leadership at O&B and the Executive Chef at the Trump; they also provide the ultimate eatertainment experience as a stylish supper club on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, which includes live entertainment and the option for bottle service. Bay Street is about to do a lot more business in America.

Russell Peters
Date: October 9th
Location: Air Canada Centre

“Somebody gonna get a hurt real bad.” With sales and attendance records under his belt in places like England and Australia, this Toronto boy is back to his hometown as part of his Almost Famous World Tour. And did you know that in 2007 he was the first stand-up comedian to ever sell out the ACC? Tickets are scarce, but if you can get your hands on them, you won’t be sorry. An amazing storyteller and perhaps the funniest accent impersonator out there, Russell Peters is one live comedy act you’ll never forget. Oh, and he likes to DJ in his spare time. So at the show’s after party at CUBE, he’s spinning a set. Might want to get tickets to that too.

Mill Street Brewery Presents Oktoberfest
Date: October 4th
Location: The Beer Hall

Hey, don’t say we didn’t warn you last week. The Oktoberfest parties are coming in hot and it’s barely even October. This week, the folks at Mill Street are throwing a great party at their spacious Beer Hall location in The Distillery. The evening kicks off at 6pm with a ceremonial tapping of the keg, and then for $25 bucks a head (or $200 for a table of 10) you’ll get live music, special Bavarian food stations, and your choice of over 20 beers on tap, including their seasonal Oktoberfest Ale. So pull up your lederhosen and get festin’. If for nothing else, it’s a great warm-up for Halloween.

Startup Fashion Week
Date: October 7-9th
Location: Bitmaker Labs, Shopify Offices & HangLoose Media Studios

World Mastercard Fashion Week might be getting dolled up for October 20th but everything you see there was, at some point, working with a lot less runway. If you’re a fashion entrepreneur, a visionary, or a YP in an early-to-late stage fashion start-up, this is something you’ll definitely want to check out. For two full days, successful professionals from cities like New York, Philadelphia, and Montreal will be sharing insights into things like start-up strategy, retail-tech, and the eBusiness of fashion to help you understand what it takes to make it big.

The Discovery Sessions by Notable x Apothic Wines
Date: October 14th
Location: Hush Restaurant Bar

From 6-9pm, Notable.ca and Apothic Wines will be hosting an exclusive evening at Hush Restaurant and Bar for some ample networking, a glass of Apothic wine, and signature Hush eats – with a side of seasoned insight from Larry Rosen, CEO of Harry Rosen Inc. Larry will share his background and his thoughts on entrepreneurship and business while Notable shares their favourite wine and King St. cuisine. As a forward-thinking, wine-sipping YP, this is one event you can’t afford to miss.
