Just Opened: Strada 241
More rustic Italian hits our city’s streets with the opening of Strada 241, a contemporary restaurant/cafe found at 241 Spadina Avenue. Headed by Michael and Guy Rubino (you recognize those names, right?), Strada 241 brings Italian back to the traditional, and features a menu executed by Chef Robert Gonsalves that reflects the Rubino brothers’ hometown, Salerno.

Eat to the Beat
This fundraiser – in support of Willow Breast Cancer Support Canada – sees 60 of Toronto’s top female chefs serving up sweet and savory bites for all in attendance at Roy Thompson Hall on Oct 16. This annual event is a massive undertaking, and one of the season’s culinary spotlights to be sure. Mix and mingle with the city’s finest while eating delights by, also, the city’s finest.

Just Opened: Cafe Boulud
Famed Celebrity Chef/Restaurateur Daniel Boulud finally makes a foray to Toronto with the opening of Cafe Boulud in the new Four Seasons Hotel Yorkville. Showcasing the intersection of contemporary and classic French cuisine, Cafe Boulud’s menus feature exceptional ingredients blended to create vibrant, globally influenced dishes. Check it out (with a reservation) at 60 Yorkville Avenue.

Operanation 9: Sweet Revenge
One of the season’s highest anticipated affairs, Operanation 9: Sweet Revenge takes over the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts on Oct 18. A luxe, indulgent, and theatrical evening awaits as the Canadian Opera Company rolls out all the stops for this annual fundraiser. Meet some of the city’s tastemakers while gallivanting about the complex and getting your own Sweet Revenge.

Operanation for the COC is one of those annual Toronto events that, really, you simply cannot miss. It’s theatrical, convivial, fashionable, and, clearly, supports one of the greatest arts institutions not just in Toronto but all of Canada. This year, the theme is Sweet Revenge, and we’re guessing it’ll be a luxe, indulgent, and mystifying evening on October 18th, 2012. Early bird tickets just went on sale ($125 if you get ‘em now, $150 if you get ‘em later), so be sure to book yours now. This event has a strong possibility of selling out…
