Just Opened: Valdez
Top Chef Canada Season 1 vet Steve Gonzales has (finally) opened his long-awaited restaurant in the heart of King West. Valdez (at 606 King Street West) takes over the space left in Cheval’s wake, and is a haven for Latin-American cuisine and cocktails. Watch for the rooftop patio to open in the coming weeks, and a special weekend late night menu.
Sip and Savour Ontario
On June 19 at the Fermenting Cellar in the Historic Distillery District (28 Distillery Lane), get ready to taste our fair province at Sip and Savour Ontario. This amazing event – in support of Houselink – sees some of the city’s top chefs cooking up bites to pair alongside a host of Ontario wineries. Mix, mingle, nosh, and sip your way through a stellar evening.
Touro Churrascaria
Up north at 125 York Blvd in Richmond Hill you’ll now find Touro, a Brazilian steakhouse that serves up the country’s famed speared meats. With a space designed by Food Network star Glen Peloso, Touro takes an upscale approach to the ‘rodizio’ style menu. With freshly prepared meats, an appetizer island, and traditional Brazilian cocktails, Touro will most certainly become a jaunt-worthy hotspot.
The Sinai Soiree
On June 20 Toronto’s young professional set will be raising a glass and dancing the night away in support of Mount Sinai Hospital at Casa Loma. Yes, that’s right, a charity gala for the city’s YP-set inside a castle. Notable, non? For more info click the link above.

TD Toronto Jazz Festival
From June 20 to 29, experience some world-class jazz in our world-class city. The TD Toronto Jazz Festival is back for another year of silky smooth vocals, stunning staccato, and rockin’ riffs. Taking place at various venues around the city, this year sees acts like Willie Nelson & Family, Smokey Robinson, and James Cotton taking to the stages.
