Notable Now Toronto: July 5, 2013

Just Opened: Food & Liquor
What will you find at Parkdale’s newest late night snack spot, dubbed Food & Liquor? Why just that, naturally. It opened quietly over this past long weekend, and already has a few noteworthy Toronto tastemakers talking it up around town. Located at 1610 Queen Street West, Food & Liquor is helping up the ante on Toronto’s late night snack scene.

Just Opened: Sagra
At 240 Annette Street in the Junction you’ll find the pristine new gem Sagra, the latest venture from the folks behind The Slow Room cafe on College Street. With a menu of updated Italian classics – from pizzas to pastas to seafood and beyond – and a beautifully decorated yet cozy dining space, Sagra is bringing the flavours of Italy to Toronto’s burgeoning West End.

Just Opened: Bistro 896
The duck may be dead, but it didn’t take long for the space left in the wake of Le Canard Mort to be snatched up. Ladies and gents, Leslieville keeps on growing with the addition of Bistro 896, aptly named as you’ll find it at 896 Queen Street East. Featuring bistro fare in an intimate environment, Bistro 896 is an East End must-try.

Just Opened: Fare Game
At 195 Carlton Street – where Jam Cafe pleased patrons for years – you’ll now find the newly opened Fare Game. Branded as continental cuisine with Canadian panache, Fare Game has a heavy focus on, you guessed it, game meats like ostrich, cornish hen, venison and the list goes on. It’s a notable new joint in the ever-growing Cabbagetown area.

Summerlicious 2013

Ad Club’s Summer Party
On July 11 at Sky Bar at Guvernment (132 Queens Quay East), join hundreds of advertising, marketing, and media mavens at the annual Ad Club Summer Party. This summer’s shindig – cheekily themed around County Fairs – sees drinks, late night snacks, and networking aplenty for those in the ad or ad related fields.
