Notable Now Toronto: July 11, 2014

Summerlicious
Date: July 4-20
Location: Toronto

We’ve been been giving out free meals for the past week in the #17nightsofsummerlicious series and there’s no plans to stop. Lucky winners have already enjoyed dining at the likes of Bymark, Splendido, and Weslodge, while tonight’s winner will be headed to Canoe. Start entering today if you want to end up sitting down at Lee, One, Nota Bene, Momofuku Daisho, or any other of Toronto’s best restaurants over the next 10 days.

Red Bull Thre3Style
Date: July 11
Location: The Hoxton, 69 Bathurst St.

Only an original 15-minute mix stands in the way of deciding the fate and future of our country’s best DJs. And while it may be stressful for said DJs, it’s heaven for us. The Canadian East Regional Qualifier will select the contestants who’ll move on to compete in the Nationals in Vancouver. Not only will eight hopefuls take the stage, but star judges Grandtheft and Thugli will also be laying down sets. You’d better start calling in sick now.

World Cup Final
Date: July 13
Location: Rio de Janeiro

It’s taken more than a month, but after all the shocks, goals, saves, and (fake) injuries, the World Cup Final has finally been decided. This Sunday, half of the world will watch three-time winners Germany will take on two-time champs Argentina. It’s likely going to be a pretty Klose match and we definitely expect things to get a little Messi, but as long as there’s a pint in your hand we’re guessing you’ll get by just fine.

Schmooze
Date: July 11
Location: Maison Mercer, 15 Mercer St.

A rooftop patio every Friday for the entire summer? Notable.ca’s got you. Remember the iconic Schmooze of around a decade ago? Well, it’s now Maison Mercer, and Notable’s teamed up with them to host one of the hottest after-work parties in the city. And it’s tonight. Picture complimentary barbeque from 5-6:30pm, happy hour drink specials until 11pm (think: pitchers of mojitos and sangria), and a view and vibe among the best in the city.

Katy Perry
Date: July 18, 19, 21
Location: ACC

Not everyone could follow a week that featured Beyoncé, Jay Z, and Lady Gaga taking the stage on the same night, but we’re pretty sure Katy Perry’s show is going to take over Toronto with the same force… if for no other reason than she’s playing three nights in four days. If you haven’t heard her roar before, you certainly will now.

Honda Indy Toronto
Date: July 18-20
Location: Exhibition Place

If you think this is just about a race, think again. The Honda Indy has blown up to full festival status by including a taste fest, craft beer fest, adrenaline fest, and much, much more. Sure, cars will street race at insanely high speeds at some point and a winner will definitely be declared, but at this point that’s basically just a bonus compared to the rest of the experience.
