International Women’s Day
Date: March 8

We’re not sure why this isn’t every day. More attention needs to be paid to promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment both within Canada and around the world. Check out and search Toronto to discover all the events leading up to the Saturday celebration. Get involved.

If Walls Could Talk

The Gladstone Hotel and curator Leila Courey are hosting the juried exhibition If Walls Could Talk. This collection of experiential illustration features work by both emerging and established artists and will alter the hotel’s 2nd floor gallery and public spaces in dramatic, conceptual, and experimental ways. So basically the hotel will drop LSD for 10 days so you can go get high on art.

Canadian Stage Theatre Ball
Date: March 6
Location: The Carlu

The Canadian Stage 2014 Theatre Ball gala fundraiser, Shatter, will be a glamorous evening of drinking and dancing (surprise, surprise). But don’t worry, if you’ve got two left feet there will also be plenty of eating and entertainment at the event. You’ll be mingling with over 400 prominent guests including senior execs from some of Canada’s major corporations. Amanda Lang will be hosting so maybe you could even work in an exchange with her…

SNAP 2014 Annual Gala and Photography Auction
Date: March 6
Location: 571 Adelaide St. E.

The AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT) is throwing their annual photographic fundraiser, SNAP! This is an opportunity to directly support ACT’s programs and services, increase awareness of HIV/AIDS, and all while adding to your art collection. There will be both a live art auction and a silent one, as well as a digital photo competition. If you weren’t already aware, two more Torontonians are infected with HIV/AIDS every day – help support the fight.

Date: March 6
Location: GTA

This great city of ours is turning 180 years young! That’s right, it’s been nearly two centuries since we decided to ditch York and rename ourselves Toronto. There will be lots of events going on to celebrate the occasion including a semi-formal cocktail affair hosted by Happy Birthday Toronto held at the historic John St. Roundhouse. We’re a world-class city – so let’s show everyone what a world-class party looks like.

Imagine Dragons
Date: March 4
Location: ACC

Billboard named these guys ‘The Breakthrough Band of 2013’ while Rolling Stone named their single Radioactive ‘the biggest rock hit of the year.’ So yeah, Imagine Dragons – so hot right now. Fresh off a Grammy for ‘best rock performance’ and an appearance on SNL, we’re pretty sure these guys will put on a show to remember. This is your chance to see a band at the beginning of a long rise – welcome to the new age.
