Momofuku Summer Party
In support of local endeavour The Remix Project, head to Momofuku Daisho in the Shangri-La Hotel (190 University Ave.) on Aug. 7 for the Momofuku Summer Party. With food and drinks by Momofuku (naturally) and music by Phantom Signal and the Soul Proprietor, this is one Toronto event you most certainly don’t want to miss.
Just Opened: Trinity Greek Taverna
A decidedly non-Danforthian-style Greek restaurant, Trinity Greek Taverna opened recently in the Beaches (at 1681 Lake Shore BLVD E), bringing a full-fledged Mediterranean experience like few other Greek restaurants in the city offer. The bright and airy space has an island feel to it, and the fact that it’s right on the water only reinforces its beauty.
Just Opened: El Catrin
In the space that until recently housed Boiler House (18 Tankhouse Lane) you’ll now find El Catrin, a stunning new Mexican restaurant with a design unlike anything else in Toronto. The expansive patios boasts an open flame fire pit to cozy up by on cool summer nights, and the menu is perfect for sharing amongst a group of friends.
Taste of the Danforth
Are you ready to taste all that the Danforth has to offer, Toronto? Pilaros’ annual Taste of the Danforth – running from Aug. 9 to 11 – is one of the city’s biggest festivals. Showcasing amazing Mediterranean eats from a myriad of vendors, a Guinness World Record attempt, and live entertainment aplenty, the stretch of Danforth from Broadview to Jones will have you shouting “Opa!”
On Civic Holiday Monday, Aug. 5, go eclectic and wild at Electric Island, the third instalment of this music fest offering up some amazing acts to groove to. This fully licensed concert and picnic series features a stellar lineup of international and local artists set to deliver over eight hours of music on Toronto’s Centre Island.
Roundhouse Craft Beer Festival
On Aug. 10 and 11 at Roundhouse Park (Lower Simcoe and Bremner), get ready to get your “berrr” on at the Roundhouse Craft Beer Festival. Featuring 15 craft breweries showcasing their best brews, alongside a hot roundup of eight food trucks (four per day), this craft beer fest brings together two of our greatest loves: street food and unique brews.
