Paws for the Cause Gala
The 2nd Annual Paws for the Cause Gala and Fashion Show scampers into Airship 37 on October 27th, bringing with it a bevy of beautiful canines and canine companions for an evening of barkingly good entertainment. Paws for the Cause helps raise funds for the Ontario Veterinary College Pet Trust Fund, and this year’s gala is hosted by ET Canada’s Rick Campanelli and Fashion Producer Angie Smith.

Fireball for Sheena’s Place
This year’s Fireball is set to take over the Hoxton on October 27th. Get lost in a world of magic and wonder as you go through the rabbit hole and into a world of cocktails, savoury delicacies, sizzling auction items, and tests of luck at the raffle. The Fireball is an annual fundraiser for Sheena’s Place, an amazing not-for-profit that provides support for those affected by eating disorders.

Haunted Mansion at the Great Hall
Notable.ca is presenting the hottest Halloween event this year. The Great Hall will be transformed in to The Grave Hall, with blood-curdling beats provided by The DAFT PUNK Tribute Band, DOWN WITH WEBSTER’s Celeb DJ DIGGY, and DJ VANESKA. The scene will be eery and ominous while you experience the creaky, vintage feel of this historic venue with Toronto’s hottest tastemakers, decked out in their best costumes. Just Opened: Holy Chuck Burgers
Yonge and St. Clair just became a whole lot meatier thanks to Holy Chuck Burgers, a new joint that proclaims “Our business is burgers!” Can’t blame them, Holy Chuck (1450 Yonge Street) grinds their meat in-house daily (a true rarity) and serves up some mouth-watering gourmet burgers like the Big Bad Wolf or the shocking Sixxy Cow, with six patties and six slices of cheese.

Toronto After Dark Film Festival
From October 20th through 27th, the After Dark Film Fest will rouse and horrify with a bevy of sci-fi, action, cult, and horror movies at the Toronto Underground Cinema (186 Spadina Avenue). The lineup of 10 genre films – from Midnight Son to the world premier of War of the Dead – is gruesome, gory, mysterious, and an ever-so-apt start to the Halloween season.

Just Opened: Modus Ristorante
Another new Italian restaurant opened recently, this one in the Financial District. Modus Ristorante is helmed by former Brassaii chef Bruce Woods.
