Nuit Blanche Calgary: September 12
Looking for late-night conversation, debate and dialogue in downtown Calgary? Nuit Blanche, a late-night international contemporary arts festival appealing to diverse, adventurous audiences, is taking over Calgary’s Olympic Plaza September 12. Held worldwide since 1997 in Toronto, Paris, Halifax and other cities, these festivals literally transform urban spaces into full-scale civic art galleries. All performances are inclusive, playful and geared toward a mass, all-ages audience.

Alberta Ballet – Great Masterpieces of the 20th Century: September 13 – 15
The season opener of the Alberta Ballet will take audiences to New York City through pieces choreographed during ballet’s golden age. Enjoy the music of Mozart and Philip Glass, and experience the genius that came from New York in the 20th century. This show features Divertimento No. 15 and The Four Temperaments, choreographed by George Balanchine and Emmy and Tony Award-winning choreographer Twyla Tharp.

The Calgary Improv Festival: September 17-23
Looking for laughs? Look no further than the Calgary Improv Festival, taking place at various Calgary locations including the Improv Depot, Lunchbox Theatre and the Epcor Centre for the Performing Arts. Hosted by The Improv Guild, the cast will also include L.A. Improv, Patti Stiles and Mr. Colin Mochrie.
