If you love pizza and live in South Calgary, you are in for a treat. Famoso Neapolitan PIzzaria just opened its second location in the city in Mckenzie Towne (5 High St SE). Going beyond just a pizza place, they use the best ingredients to create traditional Neapolitan pizza. We sharing a classic Margherita pizza or prosciutto-wrapped mozzarella balls.

Brought to you by the owners of Bonterra Trattoria, Cibo opened its doors last week on 17 Avenue SW (1012 17 Ave SW). Working with authentic Italian flavours and fresh ingredients, they bring an approachable and affordable menu along with a great wine list. We suggest trying their mushroom and thyme pizza or the lamb meatballs. The room, which can accommodate over 200 people, has six different dining spaces to choose from, ensuring you have the perfect experience whether you’re in for a quick drink or a full evening of dining. 

Spruce Meadows National Tournament (June 6 – 10)
To kick off the 2012 Spruce Meadows Summer Series, the ‘National’ will be hosting the best show jumping athletes and horses from throughout the World. The ‘National’ features the Spruce Meadows Canadian Show Jumping Championship, and when you’re not at events check out the shopping opportunities that are available on the grounds. Creating Community Initiatives with CIAO! (June 9)
Looking for an in-depth look at Calgary’s creative subculture? The Calgary Independent Arts Organization, or CIAO!, is launching its first collaborative arts event in the city. It’s going to be a unique day, featuring three multi-disciplinary art events and presenting multiple local arts organizations.

NRT Fashions Patio Party (June 9)

Icarus: presented by The Calgary Men’s Chorus Society (June 9)
Watch the Calgary Men’s Chorus as they explore the themes of flight, freedom and longing through song. Based on the mythical Greek figure who flew too close to the sun, Icarus is a cautionary tale of ambition but also a story about the longing to escape. This show is guaranteed to amuse you, chill you, and thrill you.
