Five Women Wearing the Same Dress
What is it with weddings bringing out the drama? This is a comical play set around a newlywed couple and their wedding reception in Knoxville, Tennessee. During the festivities, the bridesmaids come to realize the five of them seem to have more to talk about with each other than they do with the bride. This play was written by Alan Ball, a respected writer who is well known for his work on True Blood and Six Feet Under. For ticket information, click here. The play runs until the 21st of December at the Epcor Center.

Lou Reed Tribute Show
On December 18th, Broken City is paying tribute to Lou Reed, the counter culture poet, artist and musician that brought us oddball classics like ‘Walk on the Wild Side’. Reed was one of the founding members of the Velvet Underground, named Andy Warhol as a mentor, and will be remembered as one of the most influential people to make music in the last century. Come out to celebrate one heck of a life with Savk, Fist City, The Pygmies, No River, Night Committee and The Soft Options.

Solar Flares
One of the hardest things about winter is the total lack of sunlight. This is why artists Caitlnd Brown and Wayne Garrett decided to erect their latest public art project in downtown Calgary. The project titled ‘Solar Flare’ is a sun sculpture that will illuminate the street below in artificial rays of sun. The artists will be speaking about their project on December 19th at the Art Gallery of Calgary (117 8th Avenue SW). The event begins at 6pm. Admission is free. 403-770-1350.
