Notable Neighbourhood: Mile End

For all you young professionals travelling to Montreal and interested in checking out one of the city’s coolest, trendiest, and most artsy areas, consider Mile End on your next visit.  There is so much to do in Mile End it could take up an entire week. But keeping in mind that you may only have a couple of days on your visit, we have listed the it places you must see below…

To Eat
Some of the hottest restaurants in the city are nestled into this cozy neighbourhood. Our suggestion is to stick to where the locals go. For brunch, try out Lawrence. Opened by the guys that started off doing the brunch across the street at Sparrow, this is a really hot spot for some heavy and rich (but amazing) brunch dishes. Think comfort food meets English fare. For lunch, hit up some vegetarian at Aux Vivres, known for their vegan take on some of your favourite dishes; we love their dragon bowl with a smoothie on the side.  For dinner, check out Le Comptoir Bar et Vins for charcuterie, amazing wines, and some incredible cuisine.

To Drink
Some of our favourite spots to party are in this lovely neighbourhood. Our favourite lounge is Baldwin Barmacy, located on Laurier Ave. One of our favourite spots for drinks late night is Bar Waverly, where you will find the coolest Montrealers and some of the best martinis in the city at this cozy corner bar.

To Shop
Mile End is most notable for their furniture and décor shops. All of these spots will deliver to wherever it is that you are visiting from and you will no doubt find some of the coolest one-of-a-kind pieces on your shopping adventure. Check out our favourites; Galerie CO with its emphasis on sustainable goods, and Phil’z 20th Century Design for retro designs.
