Notable Destination: New York City Part Two

A couple of weeks ago I gave you your SEE, DO, EAT & DRINK (see Part One). Now it’s time to SHOP NYC, and for this I turned to stylist Karla CarolAnn to help compile a list of worthy boutiques that you might want to bookmark for your next trip. We go from Chelsea to LES and then over to Brooklyn, and I’ve got a few essential neighbourhood eateries to note once you’ve worked up an appetite

For a late dinner, Hanjan in Chelsea/Flatiron mixes up a fantastic Korean Spice cocktail. Ordering the Spicy Ramyun, only served after 10pm, is a must!

EAT & DRINK: When you are shopped out, walk over to the Bowery Hotel (pictured above) for a drink (the cast of SNL are regulars here). For dinner, freshen up for a highly coveted reservation at Il Buco Alimentari e Vineria. A brilliant brunch destination is Prune. Always a wait here on the weekends, so skip down the block to Juice Press. Their super green Mother Earth juice set me straight after an indulgent evening out, while the gluten-free Sin-o-Bun has to be one of the best things I’ve ever tasted.

EAT & DRINK: My last recommendation for a food fix is Gran Electrica (pictured above). This joint serves authentic bebidas, alongside traditional Mexican street fare, in an artful environment. Their garden patio is the place to be on a summer evening!

The Do-Over: In preparation for the celebratory reopening on July 4th, tickets for the Statue of Liberty National Monument are now on sale.    

Visitors will have access to The Statue of Liberty National Monument and Ellis Island for the first time since Hurricane Sandy, as well as the Statue of Liberty’s crown, pedestal, observation deck, museum, and grounds.
