Nike Training Club Holds Women to Their Resolutions

Nike isn’t letting those new year’s resolutions made just weeks ago be forgotten. We are currently in the middle of the week that most Canadians fall short in keeping with their new year’s resolutions. We admit, especially with the whole polar vortex factor (so over it), the trek to the gym does sound pretty unappealing at the moment. Here’s where Nike steps in with Nike Training Club (NTC) Week in cities around the world, challenging participants with a series of workouts via the newly updated N+TC fitness app for women. If you haven’t downloaded it yet, you should. We are slightly addicted.

Between sealing deals, entertaining clients and trying to look presentable, not many young professional (YP) ladies we know have extra time for anything these days, but N+TC allows women to supercharge their workouts and conveniently engrain fitness into their lifestyle… so you have no excuse not to make those fitness resolutions stick. With the app, you can get a workout in almost anywhere: from the office (well, some offices) to a hotel room on your next business trip. N+TC is essentially a personal trainer in your pocket, currently used by 11+ million women globally on their time, with their schedule. It features over 100 full body workouts inspired by top Nike athletes like buzzed-about Olympic snowboarder Spencer O’Brien, and designed by NTC Master Trainers. They can be done in a small space and in programs that take as little as 15 minutes. You can also choose 30 or 45-minute options should you feel so ambitious.

The global community of users is connected through the app. With the new features, athletes will now be able to develop four-week programs that are committed to goals of becoming lean, toned or strong, and to customize individual workouts by swapping out select drills for alternative ones. In addition, users can download only the workouts they want, giving them more control over the content than before. The N+TC App will also feature Nike+ Running integration and NikeFuel enablement, helping women better measure their workouts. Athletes can share these milestones, as well as completed workouts and motivational messages, via social media.

Starting on Monday (January 20th), Nike asked women to commit to one NTC workout a day. On Monday, it was a workout by Spencer O’Brien; Tuesday, Ab Burner; Wednesday, Leaner Legs; Thursday, Better Butt; Friday, Shawn Johnson stretch; and Saturday, a program by Carmelita Jeter. The week will end with an epic, free 45-minute workout session held by Master Trainer Eva Redpath in Toronto at The Sound Academy. Each participant will be loaned a Nike FuelBand and the top fuel earner will be invited to sit with Redpath at her table at the brunch after. Of course, there is brunch for everyone regardless of fitness level.

To claim your spot in the session, download the N+TC app this week and post a screen grab of your completed workout to Facebook with a comment in the comment section saying “Count me in”. This class starts at 10:45 a.m.
