New Year’s Beauty Resolutions and Tips for the YP Woman

Every young professional looks forward to the start of a new year. It’s the time to start a new chapter and improve yourself, but when it comes to fresh beauty regimes, we never seem to be able to keep them alive. Here are our top 10 realistic New Year’s beauty resolutions for every YP woman.

1. Wash your make-up brushes
Blocked pores and a dull complexion can be the result of neglected makeup brushes. Your makeup brushes collect dirt, oils and bacteria over time and ideally should be washed every couple of weeks. Either purchase a brush cleaner or a sulfate-free shampoo to lather up your cosmetic tools.

2. Moisturize
Not only do facial and body moisturizers treat and prevent dry skin, but they also protect your it from the environment by creating a barrier to prevent oils from escaping and harsh elements from creeping in.

3. SPF
While you’re at it, why not protect your skin from the sun’s rays with an SPF facial moisturizer? The sun still emits harsh rays even in the winter, and you can wind up getting the worst skin damage at the most unexpected times. As women age today, many are noticing more predominant skin damage on the left side of their faces from driving. Remember that just because you are not sitting out in the sun does not mean you are not damaging your skin. Most importantly, don’t forget about your hands!

4. Try something different!

10.  Think positively

Like Buddha said, “Rule your mind or it will rule you.” If something doesn’t go your way, you are stuck in traffic after a long day at work, or someone does or says something to make you angry, forcing yourself to keep your mind calm and peaceful throughout testing times will change your life for the better. Once you master this technique, you will start to see an enormous change in your life, your relationships and even in your physical appearance.
