New Toronto Catering Company Offers Night Food for Night People

There are few things more exciting than the emergence of a fully stocked snack station towards the end of a cocktail-filled event.

Luckily, the just-launched The Midnight Snack Co. caters to the inevitable late-night munchies with a selection of small snacks and desserts – including a winning doughnut. The result is food that’s designed not to be taken too seriously and is playful and often nostalgic in nature (Oreo cookies, anyone?)

Young and creative Toronto chef Mary Wood – whose experience includes working as pastry chef at the coveted Jamie Kennedy Kitchens – started the Midnight Snack Co. when she took a step back from the restaurant world. Wood works with clients to develop individual menus, but most of her more popular snacks (available at select establishments around the city) involve her spin on junk food – donuts, chips, ice cream sandwiches, and pickles.

And yes, it’s definitely worth breaking your diet for. After all, Woods did just win The Food Network’s Donut Showdown

The doughnuts can be dipped, glazed and filled with pretty much anything your heart desires. Far from your typical Timmy’s option, favourite flavours include toasted white chocolate, s’mores, and the yoghurt and granola cruller, among others.

And don’t even get us started on the ice cream sandwiches that include impossible-to-deny flavours like chocolate chip with brown butter ice cream, birthday party macarons with confetti ice cream, and ginger snap cookies with peaches ‘n’ cream.

Because you or everyone you know is getting engaged, The Midnight Snack Co. can do everything from cakes to late-night snack tables at weddings (grilled cheese, fried chicken + waffles, tacos, arepas, pizza…), as well as sweets tables and party favours for guests

Of course, no one at a charity event, birthday party, or bachelorette is going to complain when you bring along some midnight snacks.

Sounds pretty sweet to us.
