New Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy Filmed in Canada Releases Full-Length Trailer

Back in January, we told you about The Revenant.

Starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy, the film’s been the subject of a growing buzz.

Now, the trailer is finally here – and it looks pretty, well, intense.

Aside from the easy-on-the-eyes co-stars, the fact that an award-winning director is behind it (Birdman’s Alejandro González Iñárritu), and all the gripping, graphic action, another reason you’ll probably want to check it out is that it was shot in our home and native land, outside of Calgary.

Based on a true story, The Revenant is set in the wild frontier of the 1800s, and tells the story of frontiersmanHugh Glass, a frontiersman who survives a gruesome bear attack only to be left for dead by his party. After barely cheating death, he embarks on a brutal journey through the wilderness with two objectives: to survive, and to seek revenge on the men who savagely abandoned him.

From the trailer, it’s quickly evident that this is DiCaprio’s rawest role yet – and one that could finally score him an Academy Award win. One thing’s for sure; the film will make you never want to go camping again.

The film hits theatres this December.
