New Instagram Change Will Take Social Media Stalking to Next Level

You’ve done it. We’ve done it. And if you know someone who’s human, they’ve done it too.

Social media stalking has been around since people thought putting up a MySpace page was going to get them ‘discovered’. After all, if there’s information about you on the internet, and someone wants to find out about it, they will. And it will be creepy.

Well, it seems Instagram just didn’t think it was easy enough to let your full creep out.

Going back six-months on your ex’s feed to find out how long they’ve known their new flame? Not creepy enough, friend. Searching locations to make sure you ‘happen’ to be in the same place as your new crush? You amateur.

According to Mashable, Instagram is testing out a search bar in the followers and following category, making it even easier to get to know someone you don’t know. Before this potential update, you’d have to spend hours scrolling through thousands of followers and following labels to see who was double-tapping who. But now, with this search bar in place (currently only for selected users) you can simply search and find out that your SO is definitely still following his last three exes.

Our only advice now is that’d you better run. ‘Cause there’s definitely no longer anywhere to hide.
