New Info on Saks Fifth Avenue’s Toronto Debut This February

Saks Fifth Avenue’s Canadian arrival keeps sounding better.

Think champagne bars, gourmet food, personal shopping suites, and a curated selection of labels that most of us can only afford on super special locations (but that we never regret splurging on). In other words, your next guilty pleasure.

New details have emerged regarding the new soon-to-be American expat boutique, which has been described by parent company Hudson’s Bay Company CEO Richard Baker as “the single most luxurious department store in Canada.”

The two Canadian stores, located at the Toronto Eaton Centre and Sherway Gardens, are scheduled to open in February.

The Eaton Centre location will feature a Louis Vuitton shop-in-store (so you won’t have to venture up to Bloor if you don’t want to), a Piaget jewellery boutique (where pieces will set you back thousands), and a food hall operated by Pusateri’s Fine Foods. If a shopping spree isn’t in the cards, you may want to check it out for the food alone: the space will also feature an 11,000 square foot food experience operated by Oliver and Bonacini.

According to The Retail Insider, the 163,000 square foot store – which will span four floors in the eastern portion of CF Toronto Eaton Centre’s Hudson’s Bay building – will feature designers like Saint Laurent Paris, Stella McCartney, Givenchy, Oscar de la Renta, Lanvin, and Armani, just to name a few.

If you happen to be in Etobicoke, you can contemplate your shopping decisions at the Sherway Gardens location’s sleek champagne bar.

We can expect a total of seven or eight Canadian Saks Fifth Avenue locations overall, according to the Toronto Star. Word is that Montreal and Vancouver are both target cities. The brand’s discount counterpart, Saks OFF 5th will also open 25 Canadian locations over the next few years.
