Netflix Takes ‘Chill’ to the Next Level with Mind Control

Soon, you’ll never have to move a muscle during your marathon Netflix binge.

That is, not if the idea of two Netflix employees catches on.

Netflix often holds “hack days,” whereby employees have 24 hours to devise Netflix-centric projects. The latest such project is MindFlix, an initiative that lets you control your Netflix account via your mind.

That’s right; this means no more searching for the remote, or realizing that it’s across the couch once you’re deep in the perfect cuddle fit.

MindFlix includes a special headband to help you surf Netflix using nothing more than your mind, as you nod your heard from side to side to scroll, and think “play” on a particular Netflix title to play the video.

Its creators achieved this by customizing one of Muse’s brain-reading headbands, which is traditionally used for guiding meditation.

To clarify, the headband doesn’t actually read your thoughts. It senses brain activity and uses the feedback to control certain pre-established actions (something we are not even going try to understand).

Check it out for yourself:
