NBC to Donald Trump: You’re Fired

Well, this certainly isn’t going to help his cause for becoming president.

Instead of firing people, Donald Trump is the one who got fired today, after NBC announced it would cut ties with Trump over ‘derogatory’ comments regarding Mexican immigrants.

“Due to the recent derogatory statements by Donald Trump regarding immigrants, NBCUniversal is ending its business relationship with Mr. Trump,” NBC said in a statement. “At NBC, respect and dignity for all people are cornerstones of our values.”

This means that NBC will no longer air the Trump-backed Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants. Furthermore, Trump won’t return as the host of The Celebrity Apprentice.

We can’t say this isn’t warranted.

In case you missed it, in a news conference announcing his bid for the GOP presidential nomination, Trump demonstrated just why Americans shouldn’t vote for him when he said that many of the Mexican immigrants to come across the border were “rapists” who were bringing in drugs.

“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you,” Trumps said in his announcement speech. “They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”

Not surprisingly, the statement didn’t go over well.

The Spanish-language network Univision pulled out of its scheduled telecast of the Miss USA pageant in the wake of Trump’s statements. After a change.com petition that urged the NBC to sever ties with Trump, they just decided to do just that.

We wonder how Donald feels to be on the other side of “you’re fired!”

Probably bad enough that he’ll try to sue everyone in the next few days.
