Must Try: Chococrepe

Crêpe lovers unite! Chococrêpe recently opened at 620 Queen Street West (slightly west of Bathurst) and is upping the ante when it comes to these light, pillowy treats.

We love crêpes. They can be sweet and desserty, savoury and dinnery, eaten at breakfast, noshed at lunch, and pretty much appropriate any hour in between. Husband and wife duo Dewey and Kim Truong are elevating the typical crêperie options and have invented a slew of sure-to-be-mimicked creations.

You’ll find offerings like the Berry Banana, Crunchy Pear (with more drizzle than is recommended from your friends here at Notable, but by no means too much for the sweetest of teeth), Chipotle Chicken, the Hollandaise, and accompaniments like the Dulce de Leche Hot Chocolate with Fleur de Sel (which, by the way, is a must in any informed pantry) and the Chocoberry Salad (with chocolate vinaigrette). There are about 23 crêpes on the menu at Chococrêpe, good luck choosing.

What’s fantastic about the food, aside from the selection, is the commitment to quality. The produce is fresh, the crêpes perfectly executed, and the flavour combinations delightful.

The establishment’s space is bright with Chococrêpe’s blue and yellow contrasts cutting the visuals. It’s a pleasant spot to grab some brunch, have a hearty yet still light dinner, or catch up with pals on afternoon’s away from the office. (Because you get those often, right…?)

In less than a month Chococrêpe has converted patrons of other mainstay establishments and enticed all who pass. With a blossoming menu, a quaint vibe, and some fantastic service to boot, Chococrêpe is a must-stop for any YP.
