Must Try: Destingo

Take two Italian-restaurant alumni who worked the mainstay Vaticano in Yorkville and transplant them to Queen West, and what do you get? The answer is Destingo, a new Italian eatery near Tecumseth and Queen streets that’s serving up rustic Italian fare with a bit of a mix thrown in the loop.

When you arrive, you’ll be greeted by a rather sizeable front patio. But whether you choose to sit inside or out, you’ll be greeted with some lovely – and surprisingly cheap – Italian eats.

Pizzas are a staple at this new spot, as are pastas and antipasti. Brunch is on the menu too, just with a bit of Italian influence to keep the theme of the restaurant on point. (For instance, you can order up some porchetta pancakes with Jack Daniel’s syrup.) The lunch and dinner menus also have a heavy focus on meat and fish mains, which will bode well for the protein loving YPs out there.

Destingo is a new dining destination not to be overlooked, if only for its pedigree and pocket-friendliness.
