Must Attend: Veuve Clicquot Yelloweek

Officially launching today, Montreal’s Yelloweek is being organized by Maison Veuve Clicquot to celebrate the creativity of exceptional artisans and companies involved in the arts, food, fashion and much more in our fair city.

Yelloweek is taking place to showcase the work of Montreal artists and artisans who constantly push the limits of creativity in the name of beauty and refinement, just as Madame Clicquot did in her time. She would become one of the first important female entrepreneurs of the 19th century and create a world-renowned luxury brand.

As part of Veuve Clicquot’s program, Yelloweek highlights the legendary qualities of the Maison and the “joie de vivre” that it has always inspired around the world.

Here are the events and places you have to check out during this vibrant celebration, broken down by four sections and two special events:

1. YELLOW FASHION
An evening of fashion and Veuve Clicquot champagne in the historic Birks jewellery store will host the launch cocktail event tonight featuring a fashion show spotlighting four up-and-coming Montreal designers and the unveiling of Birks’ significant collection of yellow diamonds.

2. YELLOW TABLE
This portion is for all the die-hard foodies out there! A series of dinners will take place over the next few days where original pairings of food and champagne will be offered in five innovative Montreal restaurants. Those selected include the movers and shakers on the culinary scene: Milos, Ryu, L’Auberge Saint-Gabriel, Buonanotte and Ferreira Cafe. Each chef will offer a menu that has been created especially for the occasion in his own image. Reservations can be made directly with participating restaurants and seating is limited.

3. YELLOW ART
Veuve Clicquot is partnering with Old Montreal’s Galerie 203 for a champagne launch featuring work from new and established Montreal artists. This exhibition will include a work by each artist inspired by the history and colours of the Maison Veuve Clicquot. Artists include Suzanne Colello, Peter Farmer, Nathan Gilbert, Arcade Latour, Lorne Miller, Jihane Mossalim, Tiffany Pilon, Mimmo Scali, et Toro del Mar Sosa.

4. YELLOW NIGHT
To close Yelloweek, Veuve Clicquot will remain faithful to its tradition of glamorous and extravagant parties by organising a magical evening filled with surprises at the new, soon-to-be-open Flyjin in Old Montreal.

5. YELLOW PICNIC
What would a fun-filled couple of days be without celebrating the imminent arrival of summer with a champagne picnic to mark the opening of the terrace at the massive club New City Gas? Guests and celebrities in attendance can expect entertainment, music, and garden party games. This will be one of the season’s “must-attend” events, so reservations are essential!

Notable fact: During Yelloweek, 20 Montreal establishments will offer a complimentary second glass of champagne with each glass purchased. You can check out the list of participating bars and restaurants here.
