Montreal foodies, celebrate, January marks Old Montreal’s 6th annual “Happening Gourmand.” The celebrated restaurant month returns from January 10 to February 3. The scope of this wonderful food extravaganza is to give locals the chance to explore Old Montreal’s finest meals for a fragment of the price.
This time around, the eight chosen restaurants participating include menus ranging from top-notch pizza to exquisite steaks. The players this year are: Aix Cuisine, BEVO Bar + Pizzeria, Modavie, Mechant Boeuf, Suite 701, Taverne Gaspar, Verses Restaurant and Vieux-Port Steakhouse. A new addition to this year’s event are lunch menus in participating restaurants open during midday hours, the ideal way for we young professionals to spend lunch while indulging in some of Old Port’s finest cuisine.
Last year, Happening Gourmand attracted a lot of newcomers to the area, and this time around the hype is even greater, anticipating an even bigger turnout. With every edition, Old Montreal is becoming more recognized as one of the world’s top dining stopovers with amazing reviews coming in from around the world.
The menu pricing is attainable for anybody, starting at $15 for lunch, while $23, $27 and $37 for table d’hotes will be available for dinner. A bonus? With the purchase of a Happening Gourmand menu, guests receive $5 off tickets for Montreal’s largest snow-clad party, “Igloofest.”
