More Notable NYE 2014 Parties in Vancouver

Say farewell to 2013 in notable fashion at a few additional events we’ve sourced that are guaranteed to help you ring in New Year’s Eve with serious style. Looking for part 1 of our NYE guide? Click here.

First off, channel the 1920s and go Gatsby style at the luxurious Rosewood Hotel Georgia. They’re hosting a Gatsby-themed soiree in celebration of the roaring 20s – transforming the lobby into an elegant step back in time. Dance to jazz tunes, sip champagne, and taste the good life at their caviar bar and liquid nitrogen oyster station as you take in the scene. There will be a live band and cabaret with entertainment courtesy of The Malcolm Trio, Skylab sounds, Pandora & The Locksmiths and more. Welcome cocktail, NYE favours, canapés and more included in your $149 ticket. Party starts at 8:30pm until late. Contact the hotel directly at 604.673.7031 or email carmel.chung@rosewoodhotels.com

The Vancouver Club is also set to host a party like no other NYE 2014 – and has pulled out all the stops for one massive extravaganza. The multi-level party spans three floors, six rooms, and features signature cocktail bars throughout. Get dolled up and make your way around the various lounges or kick things into high gear with Soulstream or The Impeccables. The night will really get started as you fuel up in the Port and Cheese Room, Dessert Room, Seafood Room and discover the various Hidden Rooms throughout. Kick off the heels when it gets too much and check them into the Shoe Valet (yup, they’ve thought of everything). Dress is formal and fancy, $200 per person, and the party starts at 8pm until late.

Add a Northern Italian twist to your New Year’s celebrations by checking into La Pentola della Quercia. Tucked into the plush OPUS Hotel in the heart of Vancouver’s Yaletown, La Pentola is featuring several NYE options with a unique family-style dining experience to get the night started. Each experience offers a combination of family-style platters and individual dishes. A seven-course early dinner takes place between 5-8pm and includes vitello tonnato, lobster ravioli, Icelandic heritage breed lamb and celebratory dolci at a cost of $55 per person (plus tax and gratuity). The later meal from 9pm until late includes 10 courses, caviar and a glass of champagne ($90 per person). Reserve/pay in advance and then slip next door to ring in the New Year at OPUS Bar’s lobby. For more information call 604.694.2103 or email the restaurant at info@lapentola.ca.

Keeping things in the hood, The Parlour Restaurant is throwing a huge ‘Studio 54’ style New Year’s bash (tickets are $20 with special group packages available). Dig up in your disco-best, channel Bianca Jagger, and get ready to party the night away well into the wee hours. If you’ve been to The Parlour lately, you know how the show rolls; they’ll feature drink specials, party favours, a killer line up of DJs and plenty more to help you ring in 2014 surrounded by a cool crowd. Don’t wait to snag tickets, contact them directly at info@theparlourrestaurants.com

Another ‘foodie’ option for New Year’s guaranteed to satiate your appetite for all things Italian requires you to make your way down to East Van. Campagnolo on Main and its sister hot spot Campagnolo ROMA (Hastings Sunrise) is offering dining family-style as part of their Alla Famiglia experience as you inch toward the New Year with antipasti, primi, pizza, secondi and dolci courses (all for $48).

Also hosting a bash in the city’s East side is Mamie Taylor’s (having opened earlier this fall). They’ve dubbed it a Social Ball and it’ll be an all-inclusive night fuelled by food, booze and fun. Expect to fill your belly with an endless array of appetizers, craft cocktails and brew, plenty of great tunes, dancing and some interesting alternative forms of entertainment. We’ll just leave it at that to pique your interest. The party gets going at around 8:30pm until late. Call to reserve (604.620.8818) or visit them online:www.mamietaylors.ca. Tickets are $100 per person.
