Montreal Weekender: July 10 through 13, 2014

THURSDAY
Our favourite dance spot in the Mile-End, Datcha, is making things happen tonight with the underground famous Goa via Glasgow party-packer Auntie Flo. Joined by label bros Dreems and Thomas Von Party, this night will pack vibe rainbows into an intimate space. Get dancing.

The coolest pop-up event of the summer takes place tonight and you can be there (if you’re quick enough to RSVP).

Pop in and cool down at one of this summer’s hottest parties where you will experience a refreshing take on the iconic REC ROOM like never before. Parisian Laundry will be offering complimentary cocktails, a candy bar, arcade games and more. Be a kid again – a notable one.

FRIDAY
POP Montreal and the Arrondissement du Plateau-Mont-Royal have collaborated to produce this summer’s Marché des Possibles, a new open air market located in the park and parking lot adjacent to Arena St. Louis (corner Saint-Dominique and Bernard). This dynamic new urban project will be open from Friday to Sunday, between July 11th and August 31st. The Marché is a true celebration of Mile End’s creative community spirit featuring food trucks, a German-style biergarten, fresh local produce, artisanal products and free diverse cultural programming including films, live music, family activities, and more.

Every Friday, things are done differently at Restaurant Globe as they bring you their weekly installment of Les Interdits. A late-night menu, with a new lounge and raw bar added, Les Interdits aims to please those seeking a more refined environment to spend their evening into the late night. Join them for some forbidden fun this Friday with music by Toddy Flores.

SATURDAY
It’s wall-to-wall music across the weekend as Piknic presents another double-header with two completely different programs.

Saturday, as part of the Week-ends of the World festivities, entrance is absolutely free and, for this special occasion, the guest artists have been carefully selected for their expertise in tropical, South American, Caribbean, South African, and swing rhythms, while the grand finale will be conducted by a British maestro famous for his universal musical knowledge.

1050 Clark Street is home to new hotspot Luwan and tonight is the opener. All we know is that it’ll be full of fun people, good music and no cover with DJs Robert Small and Jonah Leslie on the decks. 9pm until 3am – be ready.

Been to Pandore yet? Well you need to go. Seriously. This newly opened sexy resto-bar in Quartier de Spectacles is making waves not only for its food and drinks, but also for its stunning views. Tonight DJ Avilarge will be spinning while their rooftop terrace will be vibing all night thanks to hosts Josh Silver and Karl Meche. Contact 514-777-1676 for resos.

SUNDAY
Montreal’s favourite brunch is back and stepping it up for the biggest prize of them all, La Coppa Del Mondo. All eyes will be on Buonanotte’s HD TVs and projectors while resident DJs Danny Torrence and Toddy Flores serve up the hottest in house, hip-hop and R&B anthems. Brunch will be served from 2pm until 5pm, with bottle service continuing until 8pm.

Unless the comedy coma struck you, buzz about Just for Laughs has been all over town and back. Sunday doesn’t have to equal lazy and TV reruns. The plethora of humour in Montreal tonight is delicious and features The Nasty Show, Liar Liar, Slightly Fat Features and more. Check out the full schedule here and bring Kleenex… the tears will be rolling.
