Montreal Weekender: Grand Prix Edition

THURSDAY

Can you believe it’s been 15 years of the Grand Prix Crescent Street Festival? Every year, race fans, Montrealers and tourists from all around gather together on Crescent Street for the entire weekend during the Grand Prix week to take part in this free outdoor event, which has become the official launch of summertime in Montreal. The 15th edition of the Crescent Street Grand Prix Festival will be presented by Labatt and will be bigger than ever with loads of activities and incredible artists for everyone to enjoy. Featuring DJs, autograph sessions, F1 and luxury cars on display and much more.

Grand Prix is finally here and that means three things: fast cars, F1 legends, and the best events of the year all in a span of three days. Being the major F1 enthusiasts that we are, we’re extremely excited to announce our partnership with TW Steel for an exclusive event at La Societe with their brand ambassador and legend on the F1 circuit, David Coulthard

Canapés, cocktails and David Coulthard.

Probably just the best Thursday evening you’ll ever have is all. Starts at 6pm.

Pop by Old Montreal today for a plethora of happenings including a party at Suite 701 with a live DJ presented by Ciroc from 5 pm and on, BEVO Bar+PIZZERIA 5 à 7 beers and DJ Dylon presented by Ketel One and Terrasse sur l’Auberge featuring DJ E11even from 6pm to 12am!

For a wilder time after, pop by the Grey Goose GP Party at the new Galt on De la Montagne. DJs Marciano, Lebaron and OHM Hourani are getting the party started with a whole lot of energy at 10pm. Did we mention there will be entertainment by Carpe Diem Circus and Oshun Lili? Bottles, fire starters and people watching will go on for three whole days. Yup, sounds about right.

Le Richmond is officially launching their terrace tonight just in time for the Grand Prix and it will be quite a stunner. The cool part? Stikki Peaches will be unveiling a unique Kate Moss piece, paying homage to this fabulous icon. Fashion, sunshine and sparkly wine. We like.

FRIDAY

One of the most anticipated events of the weekend takes place tonight and Notable is all over it. We’ve partnered with the luxurious Ritz Carlton Montreal and Infiniti Canada for their exclusive Grand Prix soiree. This stunning black-tie event will feature a special appearance by David Coulthard, Red Bull Ambassador and former Grand Prix driver, an open Moët & Chandon champagne bar, delectable food stations, live performances, celebrity DJs and luxurious gift bags. If you purchase a ticket here and use the promo code NOTABLE, you will be eligible to win a bonus VIP all-access pass. You know we love hooking you up. Get your best suit and dress glam-ready because this will be the event of the weekend.

Did someone say Grand Prix block party in Old Montreal? That’s right, the street of St. Paul will be closed to traffic for the first time ever and Santos is all over it. Join them today for the coolest block party in the Old Port starting at 2pm, featuring water guns, music by RR Kelly and Truspin, ping-pong tables, live street performances, alcohol-infused fruits, and a lot of great drink specials. Swagger on down to 191 Rue Saint Paul Ouest.

The Monkland Village is kicking off their three-day Grand Prix festival today from 10am to 11pm. This festival is the first of two special events hitting the Monkland Village in summer 2014. There will be merchants, restaurants, food trucks, exotic cars, circus acts, a kids zone, DJs, dancing, and many other kinds of entertainment on site… so pretty much for everyone including your uncle.

SATURDAY

Get your sticky notes ready, this is one hell of a busy day.

Wake up in peace and quiet (sort of) at Old Port’s favourite brunch spot, The Royal Merchant. Open for Grand prix as always, chef Ryan Dixon is preparing some of his favourites. Open Saturday and Sunday with breakfast shots (tequila, if you wish), latkes and eggs, duck and beans, breakfast pizza… pretty much anything that will warmly coat your tummy for the boozy day ahead.

Or you can just sleep in longer and head over to the insanity that will be the matinee brunch. The Santos pit crew will get you ready for the race, serving a delicious brunch between 2pm and 5pm, and bottle service from 5pm to 8pm. DJ Toddy Flores gets your motors running with his signature mix of classic R&B and hip-hop, while Danny Torrence revs up the dance floor with his sultry house music. Mascots might be present.

Head over to the Main and visit our boys at SuWu. They will be hosting the New Regime Grand Prix Pop-Up Shop after party starting at 11pm featuring RR Kelly and Grand buda. Hosted by Kenny Ace, you know the hip-hop and cocktails will be on point here. Great crowd guaranteed – no white jeans and wife beaters allowed, gentleman.

Maybe you’re not the typical Grand Prix partier and want something off the strip that’s not as loud with club bangers blasting all over. The answer? ADN, a series of grand events produced by the Arsenal launching their first edition tonight. Step into Quebec fashion icon Denis Ganon’s universe starting at 7pm where we’ll be at the heart of all the action as partners. Organized exclusively by the Arsenal and curated by Denis Gagnon himself, the evening will be an artistic synthesis of fashion, music, dance and fine dining inspired by Denis.

ADN will be guided by the unprecedented mix of professional and lifestyle models and will also feature a presentation of the Denis Gagnon Fall-Winter 2014 collection. Get styled!

As always, Time Supper Club brings you everything you need to really feel the Grand Prix vibe. Bottles, bottles and more bottles. This will be one insane party, so going home at midnight will most likely not be on the agenda. Here’s a little notable fact: Toronto’s The Weeknd will be hosting.

SUNDAY

Nothing better than sexy and sophisticated on a Sunday, right? Today you can experience that at the Grand Prix after party bringing you back in time in collaboration with Charles Biddles Jr. This anticipated event held in Montreal’s newest up-and-coming music lounge will feature prominent international artists, upscale live entertainment, red carpet, cocktails and appetizers, DJ Andy Couchman, Hype Energy drink Ambassadors, the opening DJ for Price in 2012, and more. Tickets available here.

Flyjin is also hosting a Grand Prix ender A5 X Red Bull F1 Celebration at their always-buzzing location featuring a lot of people (seriously), epic music as always, and just a good time. This spot never disappoints.

And behold: the after party of the after parties, where local and international celebrities, business leaders and F1 drivers rub shoulders in a relaxed and intimate party atmosphere.

Exclusive dinner by reservation only from 7pm. And once 10pm strikes, DJ Sharam (Deep Dish) and local artists Christian Pronovost (Lost Heroes) and Alain Vinet (Cirque du Soleil) will blow the roof off.
