Montreal Weekender: February 5 through 8, 2015

From the freezer into the frying pan, we’ve traded the cold month of January in order to bask in the romantic month of February. Literally every scene except the weather is heating up this month: music, food, art, charity events, sports, and of course a little thing we like to call “the weekend”…

THURSDAY

Want to discover how innovation tastes? IBM Watson, a cognitive computer, has helped chefs create never before seen poutine recipes and now you can taste them at a complimentary event for Poutine Week from 7-11pm at l’Auberge Saint-Gabriel.

Who said technology can’t be tasty?

Speaking of Poutine Week, you only have until February 7th to check out every foodie’s dream event that has taken over Montreal one cheesy fry at a time.

British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac will be gracing the stages of the Bell Centre tonight and if you’re lucky enough to have scored a ticket, you’re in for one hell of a Landslide

FRIDAY

What happens when you combine poutine with children’s charity and curling on Montreal’s nicest terrace? Nothing but great things, obviously.

La Tohu Circus is bringing its first show of the tetralogy series equipped with a circular, hive looking stage, under which technicians and performers are busy switching characters and places with breakneck speed. It’s Las Vegas glam meets moral human dilemma. Confused? Then make sure you go see it.

Planning on beating the cold and making it a Netflix night? Then make sure you order in and call Chef on Call. Why? They created the Donator Burger and a portion of each sale goes towards a great charity. Comfort food and well doing? What’s not to love.

SATURDAY

Want to get seduced in a red brothel room? Then hit up this Igloofest afterparty in Old Montreal featuring artists, dancers, and live DJs.

Chocolate fashion shows, culinary chocolate trends, and chocolate tastings? Is this heaven? No, but it’s close enough. Je t’aime en chocolat is taking over Marche Bonsecours and your gluttonous side better be there.

It’s your last chance to enjoy the Fête des neiges festival at Parc Jean Drapeau featuring huge variety of winter activities including zip lines, tube sliding, sled dog tours, skating, shows, music, and much more. Saturdays are extra special with a plethora of food trucks on site and a disco ice slide.

SUNDAY

If you loved Home Improvement, the largest and most comprehensive Home Show in Québec is the perfect way to spend your Sunday. Featuring over 600 exhibitors and 100,000 visitors, this is for all you interior design and real estate nerds.

Whether you’re looking to discover the rich variety of heirloom plants from Quebec and meet producers of organic seeds or follow a guide through the fascinating cycles of the heavens, The Montreal Space For Life Centre has you covered this weekend.
